For the class of Project management called “Gestión de proyectos” at ICESI University in Cali, Colombia. Which objective is to create and manage an event for design students.
First of all, before to start the event the students have to learn the objectives of the event and decide which type of event is going to take place for that semester, the students of Industrial Design and Interactive Media Design who are taking the subject meet on a specific day and hour to discuss the name of the event, the speakers, the roles of everyone and the design style for the event.
Depending on the type of contribution and how much effort made by the student for the success of the event, the same way is going to be his grade at the end of the semester.
The title of the event starts with “Hoy es diseño” which meaning in spanish is Today is design and is complimented by the main theme of the event of that year decided for the students of the Project management class, who is going to taking part in planning and carrying out the event. E. g. the event is related to robots design, the name will be something like Today is robots design.
For the 2011 year event was called Hoy es diseño “__” leaving a blanc space to cover different themes from Back to basics, corbata means Neck tie (business), Urbano (urban) and Radical.
As for me, well I was part of the marketing team in the Interactive Media Designers Class, one of the roles was to make a video to show in the event and in the local tv station. Also I was part of the members who has to receive and pick up the speakers at the airport, transport to the Hotel and bring to the event. The leader was my friend Jean Paul, and with the efforts of him and the other two of my best friends Andrés who is a genius in After Effects and Carlo, the video was made and the event was a success.
