1000 Nendoroid Exhibition

We decided to make brainstorm of Ideas. everybody brings his own drawings and ideas to add to the project to participate in th Good Smile Company® Exhibition of 1000 figures in their museum in Kurashi city in the prefecture of Tottori.

The theme decided was inspired by Lewis Carrol’s book Alice in Wonderland with a steampunk design. In this case we created the models of Alice and the Queen of Hearts.

The total time to finish the project was around a month, the designs of alice and the queen not only differs in colors, also their appeareance, alice being a girl and the queen more like and adult woman, taking in account that the nendoroid® body is childish compared to other figurines.

The difficult parts of the projets was to sculpt the hair of both characters because the bodies and faces used were of the nendoroid® doll base model.

As for me I designed the faces of the characters and the hard part was to make the perfect size to fit perfectly in the doll faces.

Aside of the main characters, we decided to sculpt the card soldiers, two members of the team worked hard to sculpt and paint them.

It were made in ZBrush® and printed in 3D then it were painted with airbrush, the same pattern as the hairs of the main characters.

I made the designs of the soldiers in adobe Illustrator® and printed on a decal paper.

Another challenge was to choose wich type of fabric and whict pattern is going to fit the desired style.

So three members of the team worked hard to make the clothes of this two characters.

For the accesories, the crown and the googles were sculpted in ZBrush® printed in 3D and painted using airbrush.

The name came from the beginning of the original story where the character of Alice guided by curiosity chases the hare and enters in the Hare’s nest. But in this case is enterign to a Steampunk world where the gears is the common element asociated with steampunk.

It was made from the design of a Gear made of the poker Spades and Hearts. Also including a tea pot in reference to the scene of the Mad Hatter and the hare event in the original story.
